About Sarah Hoskins

Biography Dartmoor based artist Sarah Hoskins, was born in Kent and grew up in the South West of England. In 1996 she graduated from Wimbledon School of Art, then completed a Post Graduate diploma at the Cyprus College of Art in 2002. Since then she has exhibited widely throughout the UK, and internationally. In 2010 she returned to Cyprus initially as a resident artist at the Cyprus College of Art, and was made their Head of Foundation until December 2012. Artist Statement In Sarah Hoskins' abstract work there is an often complex interplay between colours, curves, angles, scale, orientation, and spatial push and pull. "My process involves risk and unpredictability. It’s like a game with limited moves where each component asserts an identity. A crucial point comes when the picture seems impossibly disparate and chaotic, from then on my task is to solve it like a puzzle. The satisfaction is bringing it all together; finding relationships that create a whole."

Stage Visuals for Rag ‘N’ Bone Man at Capital’s Summertime Ball 2017

On the 10th of June, my painting was animated for stage visuals at Wembley Stadium. It was disassembled, and swirled about behind the hot new talent Rag ‘N’ Bone Man. This was made possible by the very clever Stefan Goodchild and his company Triple Geek  (he has previously worked with Peter Gabriel, LCD Soundsystem, Queen, Pet Shop Boys, and Florence and the Machine to name a few ). I am honoured and excited to have had his magic applied to my painting. Here are some screen shots taken from YouTube:
